Rebranding “Disability”

I think we need to rebrand “disability.”

That was the statement that Rich Donovan, a dear friend of mine from business school, made one night over a couple of beers that set us on our journey. It soon led us to the creation of Lime, a non-profit organization with a fresh approach to supporting economic empowerment for people with disabilities.

Gone were the old stereotypes of “the disabled.” In was a vibrant, future-forward narrative that affirmed the exceptional value people with disabilities bring to businesses, communities and culture.
